The popular music streaming platform brings this feature, which has long been available on the mobile app, to Windows and MacOS applications, allowing you to listen to music in real-time with your friends or those around you. According to the announcements, the Spotify Jam feature is only available for Premium users.”
In a statement published on Spotify’s blog page, the company said, “Now, in addition to the mobile app, you can start or join a listening party with your friends, family, colleagues, and classmates using the Spotify desktop app.”
Additionally, with the new features, you’ll be able to track the song queue in Jam from the right sidebar of the desktop app. This allows you to browse through new songs on the app while also checking out the next track to be played or the current Jam.
How to join Spotify Jam on desktop?
With the Jam feature, you can share your listening experience with friends. If you’re wondering how to do it, you can follow these steps:
- Starting a Jam: Currently, not everyone has the feature, but when it’s active, right-click on a song or playlist, and select the “Start Jam” option from the menu.
- Invite Your Friends: When you start a Jam, you’ll see the queue on the right sidebar. From there, you can click the “Invite” button to send the copied link to your friends. Additionally, you can also send the QR code on the screen to your friends. Even free users can join Jam via mobile.
- Join a Jam: You can join Spotify Jam on the desktop app using the link shared by someone else and listen to music simultaneously with your friend.
